Celebration Of Body Art
History
When Tony, Juli Moon, Vyvyn Lazanga and I were
sitting and talking on Hedonism II's beach in Jamaica ten years ago, the thought of how neat it would be to join the body art
community and the Jamaican community. The idea was to "celebrate"
our uniqueness, our lives, liberties and our individual pursuits of happiness. What a better place to showcase our art work!
Henceforth, the birth of the "Celebration of Body Art."
Lots of things have changed at the Hedonism
II Resort since we first brought the idea to Kevin Levee, Hedonism II's General Manager, in 1990.
But the Celebration of Body Art has grown and
become one of the best weeks possible. EVERYONE is welcome to
celebrate life with us whether you have body art or if you do
not have body art, which our "CBA family" lovingly refers
to as a "blank". The Celebration of Body Art has become
a warm, unconditionally loving extended family. Will Rogers said
it best when he said "there is no such thing as a stranger,
there are just people I haven't met yet". Our "celebrity"
collection is a community and a representation of what once the
everyday heart beat of the Hedonism II lifestyle" and what
it was originally all about, a beautiful tapestry of human fabric.
Some "fabric" is plain, some mega colorful but all having
respect for others, sharing common interests, non-judgementalism,
having fun and making lifetime friends.
